Abstract

The Zn1-xMnxO nanoparticles have successfully been synthesized by coprecipitation methods. The research was conducted by using Zinc Acetate Dihydrate powder, Mangan powders were employed using HCl and NH4OH as the solvent and precipitating agents respectively. Synthesis of Zn1-xMnxO nanoparticles was carried out with the variation of Mn doping (x = 0 - 0,03) in the precursor solution. Structural characterization using X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was then performed. From XRD data analysis, the Zn1-xMnxO crystal size decreases with increasing of Mn ion dopant. While testing the optical properties using Genesys 10S Spectrophotometer UV-vis then the transmission spectrum obtained is processed to obtain the optical band gap. The results show that the increasing of Mn dopant ion in Zn1-xMnxO nanoparticles decreases the gap energy (Eg) Zn1-xMnxO.
