Abstract

“At this time, YouTube is a social media that is still very popular among many groups, many channels provide viewing from children to the elderly. Another benefit is that YouTube is a channel for one's ideas, creativity and work which is shared and shown to the general public. , one of which is the object of research this time. The aim of this research is to reveal the social reality of songs as social criticism using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method, and the technique used in collecting data in this research is library research. and deepening the theory by adjusting the objects taken, using Norman Fairclough's theory, researchers will later reveal 3 things as stated by Norman, namely, 1. Text, how this text is conveyed, 2. Discourse Practice, the discourse behind the making of the feast song, 3. Sociocultural Practice, situational: the situation described, Institutional: emptying of sovereignty, control, rampant greed, Social: criticizing the government which is just empty talk, Further research that is relevant to this article is to further enrich reading sources with objects of social criticism and songs, which are representative of society's problems, or songs as a reflection of society's unrest.”
