The increasing prevalence of obesity is influenced by lifestyle changes, fast food consumption, and low physical activity due to the use of gadgets or smartphones and sedentary lifestyles. Childhood obesity can continue into adulthood and increase the risk of degenerative diseases in later life. The purpose of this study is specifically to determine the impact of physical activity on preventing obesity in children, while specifically aiming to provide an overview of the factors that cause obesity in children. The method used in this study uses the NLR (Narrative Literature Review) approach. Literature searches were conducted through several databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. The number of articles used as secondary data was 10 scientific articles in both national and international reputable scientific journals with a time limit of publishing articles in the last 10 years to keep looking for novelty. Keyword limitations used in the search include physical activity, obesity prevention, children aged 13-15 years, and adolescents. Based on the results of the study, it was found that physical activity has an impact on preventing childhood obesity and there are several factors that can reduce physical activity in children, namely individuals, families, the environment, facilities and infrastructure, and the influence of technology. Increasing physical activity should be a priority in childhood obesity prevention strategies. The conclusion of this study is that efforts to prevent childhood obesity need to involve a multidimensional approach. Not only maintaining the child's diet but including physical activity in the school environment, family, and community. Physical activity plays an important role in preventing obesity in children aged 13-15 years.
Haeril Copyright (c) 2025 Citius : Jurnal Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan 2025-06-01 2025-06-01 5 1 01 10 10.32665/citius.v5i1.4423 Analysis of aerobic and anaerobic endurance in futsal extracurricular https://journal.unugiri.ac.id/index.php/citius/article/view/4422
Participants in the futsal extracurricular programme at SMPN 1 Babirik often experience fatigue during competitions, which indicates a weak physical condition, particularly with regard to endurance. This study aims to analyse participants' aerobic and anaerobic endurance in order to prepare a more effective and targeted exercise programme. The research method uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The study population consisted of 20 futsal extracurricular participants, sampled using the total sampling technique. The Multistage Fitness Test (MFT) was used to measure aerobic endurance and the Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) was used to measure anaerobic endurance. The results showed that the students' aerobic endurance was mostly in the very bad (75%), bad (20%) and sufficient (5%) categories, with an average score of 32.35. Anaerobic endurance, meanwhile, showed better results: 80% in the very good category and 20% in the good category, with an average maximum power of 223 watts, a minimum power of 124 watts and an average fatigue index of 2.55. This study indicates an imbalance between aerobic and anaerobic endurance. Therefore, a programme of exercises focused on improving aerobic endurance is needed. Further research using a wider sample size is recommended to make the results more representative.
Rajib Sanusi Ramadhan Arifin Lazuardy Akbar Fauzan Copyright (c) 2025 Citius : Jurnal Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan 2025-06-01 2025-06-01 5 1 11 18 10.32665/citius.v5i1.4422 Hot seat strategy to improve spike accuracy, confidence and motivation in volleyball learning https://journal.unugiri.ac.id/index.php/citius/article/view/4129
This study aims to analyze the effect of using the "Hot Seat" teaching strategy in improving the accuracy of high school students in volleyball spiking skills. Rewards can be in the form of financial or non-financial rewards given as a form of appreciation for teacher performance. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design that aims to test the effect of reward policies on the motivation and performance of physical education teachers in elementary schools in the city of Surabaya. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires directly to teachers at school or through an online platform to facilitate respondents who are in more remote locations. The results of the regression analysis showed that the reward policy had a positive and significant effect on motivation (coefficient = 0.42; p <0.05) and performance (coefficient = 0.38; p <0.05). In addition, motivation also has a positive and significant effect on performance (coefficient = 0.45; p <0.05). The coefficient of determination (r²) value of 0.61 indicates that 61% of performance variability can be explained by the reward and motivation policy variables. Conclusion, reward policy has a positive and significant effect on the motivation and performance of physical education teachers in elementary schools in Surabaya. Further research can expand the object and use different approaches to enrich the findings.
Intan Pratiwi Hernovianus Kaniati Amalia Amrozi Khamidi Budi Purwoko Mufarrihul Hazin Copyright (c) 2025 Citius : Jurnal Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan 2025-06-02 2025-06-02 5 1 28 36 10.32665/citius.v5i1.4438 The effect of fartlek and shuttle run training on 60 meter sprint running speed https://journal.unugiri.ac.id/index.php/citius/article/view/4473
Running speed is an important component of students' physical ability, particularly in athletics. Research into appropriate exercise methods to increase running speed, such as fartlek and shuttle runs, is important. This study aimed to determine the effect of fartlek and shuttle run training on the 60-metre sprint speed of students at SMP Negeri 02 Belitang, using an experimental approach with a two-group pretest-posttest design.
