This study was motivated by the low level of self-confidence experienced by students from broken home families, which affects their learning engagement, social interaction, and psychological well-being. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in improving students’ self-confidence. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest–posttest model. The research subjects were students who demonstrated low self-confidence based on initial screening results. Data were collected using a self-confidence scale, observations, and interviews. The CBT intervention was conducted through several counseling sessions involving identification of negative thoughts, cognitive restructuring, behavioral rehearsal, self-monitoring, and homework assignments. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ self-confidence after the CBT intervention. These findings suggest that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is effective in helping students transform maladaptive thinking patterns into more adaptive ones, thereby enhancing their confidence in their abilities. This study provides practical implications for school counseling services in developing structured and evidence-based interventions.
