Pendidikan Karakter Anak Qur’ani di Tengah Arus Digitalisasi- Nilai, Metode, dan Relevansinya bagi Pendidikan Abad 21

This article examines how the Qur’anic framework of children’s character education can be contextualized to address the challenges of digitalization and the demands of 21 century education, particularly in response to the decline of internal moral discipline in digital environments. Accordingly, this study aims to: (1) analyze the core values of children’s character education embedded in the Qur’an; (2) examine the pedagogical methods of character education proposed by the Qur’an; and (3) articulate the relevance of Qur’anic character education for strengthening contemporary education in the digital era. This study employs a qualitative library research approach, using descriptive-analytical and thematic analysis of Qur’anic verses, classical and contemporary exegesis, and relevant scholarly literature. The findings reveal that Qur’anic character education is structured upon an integral and hierarchical value system, with tawḥīd as the foundational moral orientation, reinforced by moral conduct, worship practices, and social responsibility. Moreover, the Qur’an offers pedagogical methods such as role modeling, habituation, compassionate communication, and gradual instruction that are conceptually aligned with modern educational and developmental theories. The study concludes that Qur’anic character education holds strong strategic and operational relevance for 21 century education, particularly as a foundation for digital moral literacy that emphasizes internal moral control, ethical awareness, and sustainable character formation amid ongoing digital transformation.
